Cleanoceanproject in Maroc

Back in November 2006 we flew over to Maroc to organize a beach cleaning during the O`Neill Sultan of Surf Event in Essaouira and Taghazoute. It was such great fun to work with all the friendly people, especially with the kids - more than 250 joined us on the beaches.
In the end it was a huge success, an exciting and rewarding time for all of us. And the beginning of something. Shukran!

Our little heroes!

If we consider that worldwide every year 4,5 Billion cigarette butts are thrown thoughtlessly away and that each of them needs 20 years to vanish, this simple idea has a huge impact. We get these film boxes from local photo shops. A recycled give away for the people to put cigarette butts in. Over the years we have handed out thousands of them. Colillas aqui. Not on the beach!

Cleanoceanproject take advantage of this new way to communicate and spread our idea. But first of all we would like to thank our friends and all of you who made the project possible. Without all the help and support we would not be were we are today. Especially on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, where over the years beaches has become much cleaner and the attention towards the nature and the ocean has grown steadily. It is a great reward which motivates us to keep on going.
